Getting From the Airport to Downtown

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the most traveled airport in the world with direct, nonstop service to more than 150 U.S. destinations and more than 75 international destinations in 50 countries. With MARTA located inside the airport, visitors can roll into town without a car.


The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is Atlanta's public transportation system comprised of a bus and rail system that connects all parts of Atlanta. A single $2.50 fare covers one-way bus or train trips, including transfers.

The GWCC is MARTA accessible at two stations.

  • Events in Buildings A and B-use the Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center Station (W-1)
  • Events in Building C-use the (W-1) station or the Vine City Station (W-2)

If you are coming from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, MARTA has a rail station located at the north end of the airport, near baggage claim.   • Shared-Ride Shuttles
    • Here is a list of Hartsfield Airport's Preferred Shuttle Services.Shared-rid van service provides transportation services to and from the Atlanta central business district: Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead. Shuttles leave every 15 minutes from the Airport from stalls 3 through 10.
      • Downtown: $16.50/person
      • Midtown: $18.50/person
      • Buckhead: $30/person
  • Taxi Service
    • Atlanta has more than 1,500 taxis available to take attendees to and from their hotel throughout Atlanta. With preset rates for trips to and from the airport and within Downtown and Midtown, taxis provide an economical mode of transportation.

      Flat Rate Fees from/to the Airport:
      Downtown $30.00
      Buckhead $40.00
      Midtown $32.00

      There is a $2.00 charge for each additional person.
      Flag drop fee $1.50


Open the Uber app on your smartphone and navigate to your desired vehicle option. If you're traveling in a group or have extra bags, consider a high-capacity vehicle like uberXL or UberSUV. There are 3 terminals at ATL. After selecting a vehicle, follow the Rideshare signs to navigate to the Lower Level of the terminal. Then select the door or gate number. If you are unsure of the number, check the signs posted outside. Meet you driver outside at your selected door number. All Uber pickups must occur on the lower (arrivals) level only. You will be charged an additional $3.85 for each uberX pick-up at the airport, with the funds going directly to Hartsfield-Jackson. The fee will not apply to airport dropoffs.

Accessible Transportation 

MARTA is dedicated to making public transportation accessible to everyone, regardless of disability. They are proud to say that all of their 91 bus routes are equipped with wheelchair lifts or kneeling capabilities. In addition, MARTA operates Mobility services for qualified riders. MARTA provides priority seating for senior citizens and persons with disabilities at the front of every bus. Each rail station is 100 percent accessible with special, wide faregates for persons with disabilities. Escalators and elevators are located between the rail, bus and street levels at each station. Each train has a special wheelchair space at one end of each rail car.
