  • RailBox
    RailBox by ACKSYS : the first 802.11ac multifunction access point designed for railway applications....

  • Thanks to 802.11ac, RailBox guarantees exceptionally fast and ultra-reliable wireless performances in railway vehicles (trains, subways, trams), while ensuring compatibility with existing WiFi devices.
     
    Single or dual-radio 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, RailBox offers MIMO technology (3T3R) for radio bit rates up to 2 x 1.3 Gbps, ensuring high-performance data loading/offloading and video streaming.
     
    Configurable as access point, bridge, repeater or router, it can be used by system integrators and railway vehicle manufacturers seeking to establish a high-availability link for:

     

    • Seamless Train-to-Wayside communications thanks to a <30ms roaming between APs allowing error-free communications and a redundant train-to-ground wireless link for a continuous communication even in case of one device failure (for bidirectional multicast video streaming, PIS, passenger entertainment...)
    • High-speed carriage coupling (SRCC*) : the solution relies on wireless couplers that only need to be configured once and thus supports any train composition change and provide a redundant and reliable onboard network. Particularly used in case of refurbishment operations because of aging or poor quality connectors, ACKSYS' solution is the most efficient one for train digitalization at lower cost.
    • In-car WiFi coverage : particularly suited for high user density environments with critical network traffic, RailBox boosts mobililty and enhances the passenger WiFi experience : up to 900 Mbps UDP shared per radio AP and up to 125 clients per radio.

     
    RailBox integrates SRCC* technology (*automated mechanism allowing for the creation of a redundant wireless Ethernet backbone, guaranteeing a perfect architecture robustness) ensuring the maximum system reliability and uninterrupted connectivity of broadband services on board. In addition, for daisy chain network topologies, ACKSYS also offers an optional Ethernet bypass, allowing the redirection of network traffic in case of device or power supply failure.
     
    A removable key (C-KEY) allows the device configuration backup. It can therefore be instantaneously restored on site in less than 2 minutes in case of maintenance or replacement of a RailBox.
     
    RailBox is in the form of a compact case mounted on a fixing plate, simplifying its installation in exiguous environment. Its rugged design and hardened M12 connectors meet the environment highest demands (shock and vibration proof, EN50155, EN50121-2-3). Waterproof (IP66) and equipped with a protective vent it resists to dust, water splashes, condensation and pressure variations and can operate from -40°C to +75°C.

    RailTrack by ACKSYS : the highest performing 802.11ac three-radio access point for trackside infrastructures....

  • RailTrack is a ruggedized WiFi access point specially designed for railway and certified for trackside and tunnel infrastructures.
     
    It can be connected to the ground network through either Gbps fiber optic or copper connections. Thanks to three independent 802.11ac high-speed radio cards (3 streams) approaching 900 Mbps (UDP) each, RailTrack access point allows the construction of high performance architectures such as "wireless backbone" to overcome Ethernet cables along tracksides and tunnels.
     
    Featuring an IP66 housing and rugged M12 connectors, RailTrack is ideal for wall mounting in a tunnel or mast mounting outdoor. Its all-in-one compact footprint integrates 3 radios, a 4-port Ethernet switch (2 copper + 2 fiber) with optional Ethernet bypass (daisy chain topologies) and an AC power supply.
